In Massachusetts, all applicants for a gun permit must attend and pass a sanctioned basic pistol safety course, administered by a state-registered and certified instructor, before any permit is issued.
While not a club activity sponsored by Mansfield Fish & Game, we do post the names of certified instructors, along with self-descriptions of their qualifications and history, as a courtesy to club members and others visiting this site. Club membership is not required to attend one of these courses.
These courses are not intended to create expert shooters, but to familiarize the student with the safe handling of firearms.
