MFGPA Youth Marksmanship

The Mansfield F & G will once again be hosting the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification program. We are targeting the program to youths ages 10 -  18 years. The program is being held on Friday nights commencing May 13, 2011 at 6:00 PM and will run through the summer. Those individuals interested in participating must complete the Registration Form and Release forms. The first class that is attended will be $30.00 ($20.00 Registration Fee and $10.00 Class Fee) Thereafter each class is $10.00. The fees cover all targets, ammunition, award packets and use of rifles. Eye and ear protection will be available however we encourage participants to obtain their own if they plan to stay in the program.

Each child will have an opportunity to learn basic firearm safety rules and achieve various levels of marksmanship. Those individuals who have obtained the “Distinguished Expert” Level  previously will be advancing to develop skills in the American Rifleman 3-Position Rifle Course of Fire. This is a challenging objective that builds on the skills learned to date.
